In its largest transaction to date, the Swedish Hoist Group acquires the retail debt collection subsidiary Union Inkasso GmbH from SEB AG. In addition to the debt collection platform Hoist also acquires SEB AG´s non performing retail claim portfolio, currently administered by Union Inkasso GmbH. Furthermore, Hoist and SEB will establish a co-operation within non performing retail debt collection. Founded in 1985, Union Inkasso GmbH pursues debt collection activities relating to unsecured and secured non performing retail claims, with a specialisation within administration and collection of residential property claims. The company has 85 employees and is currently servicing approximately 90 000 claims. Headquartered in Stockholm, the Hoist Group currently owns and manages more than 500.000 distressed claims. Hoist’s German operation was established in 1997 and employs more than 200 employees in two customer centres in Bremen and Duisburg. Besides Germany, Hoist also has operations in France, Benelux and Austria. Hoist is also represented in London. The acquisition will strengthen the Hoist Group´s abilities as a specialised outsourcing partner for European financial institutions within the distressed loan market.
